Child Sponsorship

The Joy of Motherhood by wednesday, Tue, 05/08/2012 - 08:26

“There are many sacrifices and hard choices made but it was all worth it because it is for our beloved angels. This is the same experience I have had with being a mother to our sponsored children. There were times when life was hard and it was so easy to give up sponsoring our children due to ever increasing expenses and challenges in life but we were committed to helping our sponsored children have a better future.”

What Is Child Sponsorship? by pamkmillora, Tue, 07/27/2010 - 09:13

The best way to help Filipino children is to help his community become a better place in which to grow up. You can make a difference in the child's life for just P600 per month.

Your support through child sponsorship will help provide children and their community with access to essentials like:

  • Education
  • Skills training
  • Improved Nutrition
  • Livelihood assistance
  • Health care
  • Safe water
  • Value formation

This work ensures that the community will be able to provide children with the basics they need to help them grow up in a healthy environment and have a chance for a better, more sustainable future.

World Vision partners with local staff and families to develop long-term solutions and strengthen the community in which your sponsored child lives.

The ultimate goal is to see families and communities reach a point of self-sufficiency, thereby giving your sponsored child a better, healthier world in which to live

How it Works by pamkmillora, Tue, 07/27/2010 - 09:10

Child sponsorship is an exciting journey of transformation – for the child you’re helping and for you – especially if you use all the tools available to help you bond with your sponsored child.

It works by linking a poor child to an individual/ group who is committed to give a regular gift of P600 a month per child or P7,200 a year. This regular pledge will enable us to help a poor child and create many opportunities for him/ her to have a better future.

When you sponsor a child, you’ll receive a welcome kit that includes a Picture Folder or your sponsored child’s photo and personal information. You’ll also have an opportunity to write and exchange letters with the child that you’re sponsoring.

World Vision will update you about your sponsored child through annual progress reports that will be sent to you. You will also receive a Christmas card from your sponsored child and acknowledgement or thank you letters for your gifts.

You’ll also receive newsletters through mail and/ or electronic newsletters (upon subscription). These will help you learn more about World Vision and how sponsors like you are making a difference to a child’s life, along with their families and communities.

What the Sponsors Say by admin, Wed, 04/14/2010 - 01:58

Karen Davila, Broadcast Journalist

Being a child sponsor and an advocate for World Vision has genuinely changed my life. It has made me more blessed and happier. I believe in World Vision Child Sponsorship because it changes children's lives, giving them a chance at a better future. So kung kaya ninyo, tumulong na kayo dahil it's really worth trying. It's putting our faith in action."

Other testimonies of our generous Child Sponsors

Gerry Sioco

I have been sponsoring a child from Palawan, named Dominic, thru World Vision, since 2004. I can’t believe how time flies by so fast. Then, he was only 9, excited to step on the 4th Grade. Now, he’s already turning 14, only 3 years shy of college. I simply cannot believe it. I am just so proud of this kid. He always tells me how he’s doing at school and his lifelong walk with the Lord.
