World Vision sponsored child Jessica dreams of becoming a teacher someday. Graduating top three from her Grade 6 class, she can’t help but stress the importance of education. She says, “Importante ang pag-aaral kasi kapag walang pinagaralan paglaki mo wala kang alam.” (Education is important because without it when you grow older, you won’t know anything.)

The incoming freshman looks forward to getting into year high school this year. Jessica values education so much that her dream is to become a teacher someday. She says that she wants to teach other children how to count, read and write. 

As one of the 25 million students getting back into school this year, the 13-year old looks forward to entering the high school life. “I look forward to meeting new friends and teachers.” 

Amidst the excitement of getting back into school, Jessica also gets inspiration and motivation from her World Vision sponsor, Melanie, a nurse from Aklan. She says that they have been corresponding through letters and her sponsor has helped her get through school by providing her much needed school supplies and uniforms.
