On our more than 50 years of doing ministry work in the Philippines, World Vision is blessed to gain various support from its existing sponsors/ donors and supporters through their testimonies. Most of all, World Vision is also proud of sharing some stories of transformation about our former sponsored children themselves whose lives have been changed because they were given the opportunity through Child Sponsorship.
The year 2013 marks World Vision’s first time to honor sponsors who have been faithful to their sponsorship for 15 years now
Alongside this also is the recognition of sponsors for 5 and 10 years now during the Loyal Donor Appreciation Night. It was an inspiring night for the attendees, who were blessed to have met some of the best sponsored children who graduated this year.
“World Vision was made known to me when my Mom had her first sponsored child. When I entered college, I decided to sponsor a kid using my own allowance and now, I have 3 sponsored kids.
After I graduated college, I became their volunteer. I was assigned in a new project called Child Ambassadors where I would contact sponsors to find at least five sponsors for World Vision kids. When I had done my part, I became one of the Child Ambassadors of World Vision.

“Abraham Lincoln wrote, ’The best way to predict your future is to create it!’ So I created mine.
Going to school has always been exciting for me. I started kindergarten when I was 3 years old and since then I am eager to wake up early for school. I have been in school for 17 years now and learning something new each passing day.
With their genuine smiles and effortless charm, children always have a way to our hearts. Christel Joy Martinez, whose love for children penetrates through all aspects of her living, confessed why children share a big part of her in our Donor Cafe for new child sponsors conducted last January 31.
“My journey as a World Vision sponsor started way back in 2006 when my sister handed me the sponsor enrollment form and told me to do something meaningful in my life. It’s like telling to my face that my existence in this world is meaningless as far as she is concerned
Anyway, I took it as a challenge not knowing that being a WV sponsor will give me the fulfillment that I have been looking for.
So, I started with sponsoring one child, followed by another in 2010 and the latest one in 2011.
“There are many sacrifices and hard choices made but it was all worth it because it is for our beloved angels. This is the same experience I have had with being a mother to our sponsored children. There were times when life was hard and it was so easy to give up sponsoring our children due to ever increasing expenses and challenges in life but we were committed to helping our sponsored children have a better future.”

In tribute to all faithful sponsors who have continued to keep their pledge to support World Vision children for 5 and 10 years, World Vision hosted a Loyal Donor Dinner on March 15. Over 150 sponsors gathered for a night of great fun, fellowship, and food.
