Being involved with World Vision's ministry means being a Child Advocate!
It means you are one with us to support the cause for the improvement and development of every child's well-being, not just here in the Philippines but around the world. There are many ways to be a Child Advocate, depending on your capacity and what is nearest your heart to personally respond to the vast needs of children.
Sponsor a Child. The gift of giving through Child Sponsorship is a great way to help Filipino children. You are not just contributing monetarily but you also minister to the child as you make a connection with him/her through prayer, letter-writing and being updated with the child's progress.
Exposure Trip. Sponsors can visit World Vision project sites and/or to meet sponsor children to experience first-hand life in the community. This is facilitated by World Vision to ensure protection of both the children and the sponsors.
Volunteer in the mall campaigns. Promoting World Vision child sponsorship in our mall booths makes you a "champion" for children.
Be a church partner. "Believing that spiritual transformation is integral to transformational development and that the church is God's sustaining instrument in the world, while continuing to engage the total community, World Vision's commitment is to work with churches as indispensable partners." - WVI Policy on Partnerships with Churches
At present, we partner with churches to help us in the spiritual nurture of children and families in the communities (ADPs). We also promote the continuing education of church leaders by offering different leadership trainings and workshops on topics related to Transformational Development and other child-focused programs.
Disaster relief operation. You can also be trained to respond to areas affected by calamities and crisis.
Mall Campaign Volunteers. Church youth (or young adults) can take part in
fundraising campaigns for the needs of the children. The more church volunteers campaigning will mean more children going to school and being uplifted from poverty and suffering.
Be a Channels of Hope advocate. Church leaders partner with WV in combating the stigma of HIV-AIDS by serving as advocates and spokesperson. The AIDs pandemic is a growing concern growing and the Philippines is not exception. The church has an important and challenging role to promote awareness and prevention among faith-based groups and give hope to the people living with HIVAIDs.
Be a corporate partner. Hygiene Education Program. Did you know that aside from Corporate partners’ donation and
Gifts-in-Kind, company employees can organize a volunteer group to educate children about proper hygiene or proper nutrition? Be part of your Corporate Social Responsibility by serving as volunteers in educating poor children.
For Schools and Students
World Vision believes in the power of youth as agents of transformation. We envision schools participating in the work of changing lives. Students are exposed to help poor Filipinos, believing that they can do something to effect change, building the nation.
Want to see a picture of children helping other children? Be our school partner through our volunteer program. From office volunteers, office administration, data entry, filing, encoding, to IT volunteers are welcome in the office.
Internship (for local and International students). We welcome students who seek community exposure and hands-on training to enhance their professional skills in community-based and child-focused development.
Artist Associates. As an Artist Associate, you can share your gift and passion to the children by your model and influence. As an artist, you can offer your talent to engage audience to help poor children through Child Sponsorship and volunteer work. Create an impact by inviting many others to take part in the work of World Vision!
