URGENT APPEAL:Typhoon Pedring survivors need your HELP!

Typhoon Pedring leaves 43 dead, 44 wounded, and 30 missing. Let us continue to uphold in prayer our brothers and sisters who are currently affected by its aftermath. Typhoon Pedring hit flood-prone and low-lying areas in Metro Manila. It is the worst typhoon that hit Metro Manila since Typhoon Ondoy two years ago.

Families in disaster-hit communities in World Vision Urban Development Program (UDP) in Manila and Malabon were among those who are heavily affected.

Ten-year old Anne stands with her mother among debris in her community. Most of the houses had been wiped out by the waves and wind brought by typhoon Pedring.

World Vision has deployed quick assessment teams in affected areas who made recommended response in coordination with local officials and leaders to serve the immediate needs of survivor families in evacuation centers.

We urgently appeal for your help during this difficult time as we have started relief operations led by highly trained World Vision response teams. The funds that we’ll be able to raise will be pooled together to provide complementary food items, non-food relief packs and school kits to help children and their families in UDP Manila and Malabon.

As we go through the rest of 2011, I know we can help give the typhoon survivors a good head start as they rebuild their lives and withstand their most trying times. May our Lord always bless you and your family for being a blessing to others. Thank you very much for your help and prayers.
